America Is Only Nation Where Climate Scientists Face Organized Harassment
“The harassment faced by U.S.-based climate scientists has been well documented in the media—but not the harassment of scientists in Europe, Canada or the rest of the world.
That’s because there hasn’t been much to report.
While outspoken scientists of human-caused climate change in the United States endure torrents of freedom of information requests, hate mail and even death threats from skeptics, their counterparts abroad have been free to do their work without fear.”
“The foreign scientists interviewed for this story generally agreed that religion and ideology play a bigger role in U.S. politics than they do in their own countries.”
Religion and ideology should play no part in running our country. Neither should politics for that matter. Instead of a lively debate on a difference of opinions, its a fight to be ‘right’. Politics has no place in science. Science is a quest for truth. Science discovers facts. The good thing about facts is that you don’t have to choose to believe them or not. They just are. Not accepting proven facts is a sign, imo, of ignorance.
As I’ve said before, ‘global warming’ is crap. The earth naturally cycles between warmer and cooler. It is proven however, that the earth HAS warmed in the past 100 years, and at a rate rarely equaled in the paleoclimate record. Coincidence that this has happened as humans become more advanced…more ‘civilized’? I don’t think so. Even if it is later proven that all the human activity had absolutely NO effect on the climate shift we are experiencing, do we have to have a reason to do good by ourselves? Do we have to have a reason to keep our home, our earth, clean? Ever heard of those people who kill themselves by leaving their car running in their closed garage? That exhaust is POISON. Do we really want to do NOTHING to reduce the amount of that we are putting into our atmosphere.
I love taking a deep breath after a rainstorm. The air is so clean. I’ve been to the Alps and breathed that sweet air. And it is sweet. I’ve cupped my hands and drank straight from a glacier fed lake and fountains fed by glaciers. Clean, sweet, pure. There is nothing on Earth like it.
The skeptics need to pull their heads out of their asses and get on board for a better quality of living, no matter if they believe in climate change or not.
